TELEMETRIC BROADENS ITS MACHINE-TO-MACHINE DATA SOLUTIONS PORTFOLIO

Boise, ID – October 21, 2003 - Telemetric Corporation, a leader in providing utilities with affordable wireless solutions for communicating with down-line equipment, today announced that they will soon be entering beta testing for a short messaging service (SMS) communications solution.

SMS, often referred to as text messaging, allows customers to send up to 160 character messages in geographies that have digital coverage. Telemetric’s initial solution will work on Verizon’s Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA 2000) network and will communicate via a Sony Ericsson cellular radio. Telemetric also plans to add 1XRTT, Single Carrier (1x) Radio Transmission Technology, and General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) coverage in the future.

Joe Bowen, Telemetric’s CTO said, "We are excited to be able to offer our customers the increased functionality of an SMS solution. While we believe our control channel solution will continue to be the product of choice for most distribution automation applications, some situations will require the additional data capabilities of an SMS solution".
